The Long Weekend is much more than just a few days out of town… it’s three days of fun, recreation, worship and making new friends, and for those who want, a time of discovery and learning.
For young adults and older
Dorothy Lee will lead a reflection session each morning at 9.30am… workshops in meditation, art, drama,
For 0 to 2 year olds
A crèche will operate during the morning and afternoon sessions for adults. There are activities and toys to keep toddlers occupied. Volunteers will staff the crèche but parent assistance is always welcomed. Parents will need to sign children in and out.
For 3 to 4 year olds
An enjoyable program offering care and activities for toddlers will operate during the morning and afternoon sessions for adults. Sun block and hats are highly recommended!
For primary-age children
Soul Mates is an activity, learning, games and music program for primary school children. Activities begin soon after breakfast and continue until just before lunch. Run by great leaders the kids will love and admire, parent assistance is also welcomed.
For Teens
Soul Survivors is an activity, learning, and games program for active teenagers, including archery, canoeing, climbing wall, crate climb, flying foxes, giant swings, challenge high ropes, circotron ride, even surfing lessons.
Aspiring Youth Leaders
Aspiring Youth Leaders will gain hands-on experience and mentoring while helping to lead The Long Weekend. The Youth Leadership Trainee program is open to all school leavers, on the recommendation of your Parish Priest or youth leader.
